Following Grand Seiko’s unveiling of two 9R Spring Drive limited-edition watches last week, the watch brand has revealed a duo of Hi-Beat 3600 references inspired by springtime’s cherry blossoms: the SBGH341 “Sakura-Kakushi” and SBGH343 “Sakura-Wakaba.”
Attired in a 38mm watch case composed of high-intensity titanium, both new watches are paired with matching metal bracelets in brushed and polished Zaratsu finishings. The dials have been treated in Grand Seiko’s signature textured dials that depict a cherry blossom-inspired pattern. “Sakura-Kakushi” stars a pale pink dial that captures the ephemeral beauty of cherry blossoms coated in a blanket of snow. Meanwhile, “Sakura-Wakaba” arrives in a light green hue that nods to the seasonal scenery of cherry blossoms surrounded by greenery.
Turning over, the sapphire crystal open caseback showcases its in-house 9S85 Hi-Beat 36000 self-winding movement. The caliber offers a power reserve of up to 55 hours and is geared with 37 jewel, complete with an static accuracy range of +5 to -3 seconds per day.
Both watches are priced at $7,300 USD and will be available via Grand Seiko’s boutiques and authorized retailers starting March 1.
