Apple has officially unveiled the AirPods Pro 3, a significant upgrade in its premium earbuds lineup. The new model introduces enhanced Active Noise Cancellation, a built-in heart rate sensor, and live translation powered by Apple Intelligence. Pre-orders are available today, with units shipping starting September 19.
The advanced noise cancellation is being billed as the “world’s best,” thanks to redesigned foam-infused ear tips and refined acoustic architecture. Apple claims it offers twice the ANC performance of the AirPods Pro 2. The earbuds also feature a more compact in-ear design, now available in five sizes to deliver the best fit yet.
One of the most notable additions is heart rate tracking. A photoplethysmography sensor uses infrared light and onboard movement data to monitor heart rate during workouts. It works seamlessly with iOS 26’s Fitness app and a new “Workout Buddy” experience, expanding the capabilities users were previously limited to Apple Watch or iPhone alone.
Live Translation allows real-time translation during conversations, adapting volume and delivering audio in the user’s language. Paired with iOS 26 features such as remote camera control and studio-quality audio for older AirPods models, these earbuds mark a clear step toward smarter, more versatile devices.
Earlier reports from supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo hinted at a 2025 release, aligning with past rumors from iOS beta code mentions. These predictions now appear confirmed with today’s announcement and preorder availability.
With its upgraded design, pioneering health features, and seamless translation, the AirPods Pro 3 solidify Apple’s lead in merging personal audio with everyday intelligence—ushering in a smarter, more connected listening experience.
